“Anyone contemplating a real estate purchase in SW Colorado should contact Joe and Lisa LaMastra. Just by luck we happened upon this knowledgeable husband and wife team when we went searching for our vacation/retirement home in Pagosa Springs.
They kept us well informed on the progress of our contract, going the extra mile when problems arose. They even worked for us while on vacation to ensure timely closing of our purchase. They were always quick to return our calls with answers to our questions. We highly recommend them.”

A Little Bit About Us
If you are looking for Pagosa Springs Realtors who specialize in Buyer Agency (Joe) and Listing Brokerage (Lisa) you’ve come to the right place. We work very hard for our clients. We are detail oriented and experienced and will represent your interests with the highest level of service available in the Pagosa Springs real estate market.
When we moved to Pagosa Springs from Baltimore years back, like anyone else not born and raised in Pagosa we were drawn by the tremendous beauty and stellar weather of the San Juan Mountains, the wide variety of recreational activities within close reach, our wonderful hot springs, and the friendly folks who live here.
We’ve many years experience running successful small businesses back east and a solid grounding in real estate. Our variety of work and business experience includes real estate brokerage, property management, years of mediation and negotiation work, contracting experience, and building, owning and selling a highly regarded frame shop and art gallery in downtown Baltimore. We’re both Realtors and members of the National Association of Realtors as well as members of the Colorado Association of Realtors. Lisa is Secretary of the Board of the Pagosa Springs Area Association of Realtors (PSAAR), of which we are both members as well.

Joe is President of the Ruby Sisson Library Board of Trustees here in Pagosa and has also volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado. He’s worked hard for the Pagosa Springs community because he believes that sitting on the sidelines does not cut it. (By the way, Big Brothers and Big Sisters is a great organization – they, and more importantly the kids, can always use more help, so if you’re looking for something to do…)
Lisa brings to her brokerage business almost twenty years of Baltimore Courts experience as a highly trained mediator and negotiator, where she worked primarily in the divorce/custody division and as an adoption investigator. She’s a member of the PSAAR Public Relations, Community Development and Government Affairs Committee and sits on the Wayfinding subcommittee of the Town Tourism Committee.
How does this help us help you as you consider buying or selling real estate in Pagosa Springs? Simple: We’re comfortable with a wide variety of folks from varying backgrounds. We’re creative and work well individually and as a team and we understand finance and marketing, particularly as it relates to real estate here in Pagosa. We bring strong analytical and negotiating skills to the table and we know how to work hard to accomplish goals.
After 18 years in downtown Baltimore, we also bring a fresh perspective to Pagosa. We know what it’s like to make a radical change in living and we work well with clients, coming to or leaving Pagosa, who are doing the same.
We can still see Pagosa as an outsider might and we have an objective take on its minor faults and its major strengths. We’ve explored widely the stunning landscape that frames our area and we’re well acquainted with its varied neighborhoods, residential areas, vacant land and ranches. We’re very good at helping our clients sort through the issues that affect the important decisions they make as they contemplate buying or selling here.
We’ve been here long enough to have an excellent feel for Pagosa Springs but we can still approach the Pagosa area real estate market with an outsider’s objectivity and no preconceptions – a hugely important perspective in today’s unsettled real estate market.
We are proud to be Pagosa Springs Realtors. We can help you sell and we can help you buy, effectively and discerningly. Give one of us a call or drop us a line and let’s chat a bit, see if you don’t agree.

OK, if you read this far we get to indulge a bit.
This is my beautiful wife. She’s standing up on Sandia Crest with the great Duke City (Albuquerque) in the background. This shot was taken late one recent summer day while we
were taking a little R&R down in the nearly big city. Go figure that – us ex-city folks go to the city for a little rest and relaxation. Lisa goes for the excellent drinks and bar food at Scalo in Knob Hill, I go for the green chili stew at the Frontier or wherever else I can get a bowl.
We both like to stop in at Two Fools Tavern for a little Irish Pub fix as well. It’s a Knob Hill fixture in Albuquerque and a good place for a pint. With Irish in our blood and coming from a city with a great Irish tradition, it is nice to have a place like Two Fools just down the road.
Oh, and if you are wondering why I do all the writing on this site, it’s because Lisa does all the heavy lifting in this brokerage team, leaving me plenty of time to mess around…

Now this here is my totally stock Harley Davidson Dyna Superglide. I tend to ride it hard and put it up wet and I’ve taken it places no Harley should be forced to go (White Sands was easy, dragging this puppy 10 miles through the Carson to Gasbuggy almost finished it).
Totally stock now because I couldn’t bear the thought of tearing down an almost new bike. On the other hand, it’s been given a good beating over the last couple years and I’m ready to tweak. That’ll be my winter project. If you ride (any make motorbike) and are headed through Pagosa Springs, drop me a line and I’ll show you some smoking cool roads.
Pagosa Springs Realtors Joe and Lisa LaMastra. We are here to serve you whether it’s to answer a simple question or navigate and simplify a complex real estate transaction.
